Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra: The Best Camera Phone of 2021

If there would be an award for best ludicrous camera phone of the year, this phone would take it. The beast checks almost every smartphone box to compete neck in neck with the Samsung and Apple flagships. If we are talking about flagships, this ship definitely has all the flags. With the biggest camera bump ever in a smartphone plus a tiny rear display, it is extremely special. It was released on April 2, 2021 with the price well over $1000.

The phone itself is pretty straightforward. It is charged at a speed of 67W through the  usb-C port. The battery is also huge with 5000mAh camps city and charges full in no time. The water resistance is still ip68.

The display specs of the phone include a 6.81in panel with 120hz refresh rate. The touch sampling rate is dialed up to 480Hz and the brightness peaks at a crazy 1700 nits. The rear screen inside the camera bump is the same display as the Mi Band 5, measuring 1.1 inches. The rear display is clearly function-less besides checking time and some other unneeded quirks. When it comes to the main screen, it is simply the best in the world at the moment.

The speed and performance is still top notch with no drawbacks. Powered by the brand new Snapdragon 888 with 12GB of RAM, it screams power. The base storage is a substantial 256GB. In other words, the phone can run any app or game without a hiccup.

If you want a great camera phone, cameras are clearly the main focus of this device. The camera bump takes well over a quarter of the back of the phone. These sensors are some of the biggest we’ve seen on a phone. The main sensors is 108 megapixels, with the ultra wide and telephoto only hitting 48 megapixels. The selfie camera is 20 megapixels, or you can use the rear screen for high quality selfies. The zoom is very “ultra” with 5x optical zoom and a 120x digital zoom. All in all the cameras are some of the best on any phone and this is a great phone to buy if you need a camera phone.

If you were considering buying this phone, there are some things to consider. MiUi is Xiaomi’s skin over Android. It can be hard to get used to coming from any other Android UI. The camera bump could be called too big. The phone is almost the size and weight of a brick, so don’t buy it if you are a small phone person. Other than that, go buy this phone. It has a great display, battery, and performance. It’s a great camera phone.
