The new iPad Air released on September 16, 2020 gets a few major upgrades that it needed. The main update is design which gets rid of the physical home button for a in power button fingerprint reader, which makes room for a display size bump from 10.5in on the old one to 10.9 on the new one. It now has Type-C charging which is a huge upgrade from the previous Lightning charging. The performance gets an upgrade in performance using the brand new A14 Bionic chip which makes a big gap with the previous A12 chip on the last iPad Air. The camera does get some upgrades over the previous Air but most people don’t buy iPad for photography. All these upgrades make it surprisingly good at a 599 dollar price tag, so it should be a good seller.
